First Annual K-12 Franklin County Schools Art ShowOn
Saturday
April 30, 2005 the Guild sponsored an art show for Franklin County elementary and
secondary school students. Each school art teacher in Franklin County was asked
to Every art student participating in this show (around 500) received a certificate of participation. In addition 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place ribbons were awarded to winners from every grade. Guild members judged the students' art work. One
winning art student received a certificate to have a piece of
art work framed by a local framer (donated). During the day the Arts Guild served punch and cookies that had been donated by Guild members and local businesses. Performing in the auditorium were The Elementary Chorus, The High School Steppers, Irish step group, The Franklin County Cloggers, and more. Each school participating received a $100.00 check for the purchase of art supplies. Most of this money was donated by Franklin County businesses. The certificates of participation were printed by the Franklin County School Board. |
