WENDY ADAMS
"What draws me to painting is color. I am fascinated by how light and color affect each other. Objects have auras. when these auras overlap, they produce subtle changes in each other's color, light, and shadow. Observing this and documenting it on canvas is an adventure. I enjoy painting what I love in life: landscapes, children, dancers, the fruits of the earth; the bounty of life in all forms. My favorite mediums are oil, acrylic, and watercolor. I enjoy painting Plein Air for landscapes and Alla Prima for still lifes because those forms put me in the moment with my subject. I enjoy studio painting because my imagination can be more free to interpretation. I also have an assortment of equipment collected in the studio with which to experiment. Painting magnifies the things I love in life and brings me closer to them as I study them to transfer to the canvas in front of me."
